Excellence and Enrichment for Early Learners

Established in 2010, St. Matthew's School provides a vibrant and developmentally appropriate preschool program for children ages 2-4. Our dedicated teachers are nurturing and supportive and provide a dynamic, thematic-based program which stimulates curiosity and discovery, and generates enthusiasm.

We have an open door policy and parents are welcome to visit and participate both formally and informally, and on special occasions. We encourage parents to share their interests, cultures, careers or unique talents, and to assist in special class events and celebrations.

St. Matthew's School recognizes that open and comfortable communication between home and school is essential to a successful experience for your child. We are committed to facilitating a close, two-way relationship between the school and our families.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • A child's development is divided into four distinct areas: social/emotional, cognitive, language, and physical. The development in those areas is closely related and often overlaps.
  • Children flourish in a setting with a predictable routine and a schedule where they know what to expect, and what is expected of them.
  • The ideal physical space for preschool children contains various interest areas allowing them to explore, experiment, and create, providing multiple choices for active engagement.

Keeping those philosophies in mind, St. Matthew's School has created a nurturing and child-centered school community. We meet every child at his or her own level, and assist each in reaching his or her fullest potential.

"Every child born into the world is a new thought of God, an ever fresh and radiant possibility."  --Kate Douglas Wiggins, American children's author and educator
